December 13, 2013Christmas 2013 is on its way, and although the vast majority of Phuket is Muslim or Buddhist, that doesn’t mean the festivities aren’t celebrated in Phuket! While it may not be quite the same as in Christian countries, there are still a large array of shops and Phuket resorts that go all out to create a Christmas ambience, and with this is mind there is no reason not to decorate you
r Phuket luxury villa in time for Santa visiting!
Christmas in Phuket is about embracing the island and its unique style and perspective, and using this to enhance any style ideas you may have regarding your Phuket beach bungalow. It is possible to buy Christmas trees in Phuket, real and artificial, at local supermarkets and garden shops, and from early December many of the local supermarkets will have traditional decorations on sale.
Thai’s are fond of elaborate and intricate decorations so it is quite easy to adorn your Phuket sea view villa. To give it a true Thai twist think dried flowers and fruits in bowls and glasses, decorative string lights in bright colours and small wooden animals to hang on the tree. Take the opportunity to purchase some of the bright and beautiful silks available all over Phuket to decorate your table and ensure there are candles aplenty!
This year at The Pavilions in Phuket there is even a Christmas market (18th December) where it will be possible to buy festive gifts, albeit with a tropical flair! Available will be ‘a unique collection of local arts and crafts, inspired jewellery and eclectic accessories’. This is the ideal opportunity to buy some decorations for your Naithon beach house that will create the perfect Phuket Christmas!
